It would be extra frustrating spending hours and hours on that vast course without actually enjoying the game. The reason? You have a poor driver!
And you know what will be worse than that? Regretting by a corner for spending precious dollars on the wrong driver. The goal of this TaylorMade RBZ Driver review is to figure out whether going for this golf driver is worth it or not.
With today’s market, drivers have skyrocketing prices. All thanks to manufacturers researching and using the latest technology in an attempt to develop the most efficient driver. Sure, that’s a great thing. But how can you make sure that you’re paying for what the product’s real worth?
Today, I’ll be reviewing one of the drivers that made its name on top of the charts. Let’s see if it’s really up to par.
TaylorMade RBZ Driver Review: The Key Features
Let's dive deep into the key features of TaylorMade RBZ Driver, shall we?
Large 460cc Head
TaylorMade RBZ Driver’s 460cc clubhead is the largest that’s allowed for legal use in
tournaments. Golfers gush over this because it creates a larger clubface that makes off-center hits more forgiving. In fact, the forgiveness rate of this driver is one thing it is commended endlessly for.
The larger surface enables more powerful shots. Also, this large titanium head maximizes playability for golfers.
Overall, larger heads are advantageous for longer shots and can create more momentum.
Ultralite Titanium Core
There are several reasons why titanium became a popular material for drivers. It is strong, durable, and lightweight. This allows companies to increase the size of the clubhead without increasing the weight.
All these lead to a production of drivers that would allow players to swing faster with more distance. Also, with a larger sweet spot, a great margin of error was achieved.
TaylorMade, of course, uses titanium as its driver’s core as well. With this feature, the manufacturer of TaylorMade RBZ Driver was able to move more mass towards the perimeter of the clubhead. This means this particular driver has a low and forward center of gravity.
This leads, again, to the development of its highly-appraised forgiveness. Additional benefits of this feature are the higher launch angles and increased control over shots.
Although you have to note that moving the COG forward reduces the ball spin and moment of inertia (MOI).
TaylorMade RBZ Driver utilizes this technology to offer golf players 12 settings. A golfer will then have 7 standard and 5 upright loft options. This allows a golfer to either increase or decrease the loft by 1.5 degrees.
This is perfect for golfers who want the perfect suit for preferences regarding their launch and trajectory.
As all golfers know, the loft is crucial to your performance. The more loft you have, the more backspin you will create. The more backspin you will create, the more lift you can generate to let the ball rise into the air.
Enabling you to adjust your loft? Now that’s a TaylorMade offer you shouldn’t miss.
Inverted Cone Technology The inner cone is milled into the inner side of the TaylorMade RBZ Driver’s clubface. With this design, the club’s sweet spot expands and promotes more ball speed and off-center hits.
Although if I’m being honest, which I am, they could have had a larger sweet spot. Graphite Shaft TaylorMade RBZ Driver has a special graphite shaft. This provides just the right flex during a swing. It effectively promotes faster swing speed for more distance.
Golfers can also choose between senior, stiff and regular flex options.
TaylorMade makes sure their RBZ driver utilizes its speed pocket to promote higher launch conditions while also trying to reduce the spin of the ball for longer distances off the tee.
Motion Analysis Technology
If you look close enough, you will notice the interesting graphics of this TaylorMade RBZ
Driver’s crown. It has black, gold, and gray graphics.
What people don’t see is the fact that TaylorMade actually used its Motion Analysis
technology to achieve this.
Through the said technology, they studied how a golfer looks down on their driver at
address. TaylorMade then position the elegant decals in a layout creating an effective visual cue. This can greatly help a golfer with alignment. Also, if you’re a golfer particularly worried about appearances, the black satin finish of this driver will surely add some brownie points for this unit.
If you are looking for ways to save every penny you can, this driver will be good for you.
Once you purchase it, it already comes with a free matching headcover. That will be a sure decrease in your future expenses.
Be warned, though, that it kind of looks cheap. Its fit is not that great either.
- High forgiveness
- Faster swing speed
- Provides loft and face-angle adjustments
- Greater aerodynamics
- Larger club face
- Sweet spot could still use more expansion
- Free headcover is not that good in quality
